Ventura's first public Peace Garden was dedicated August 9, 2008 during the annual Hiroshima, Nagasaki atomic bombing commemoration. CPR joined with the Ventura Beyond War Team, Veterans for Peace and the Peace Coalition of Greater Ventura to develop and donate the first public peace garden in Ventura County. Central to the garden is a beautiful western cedar peace pole inscribed with "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in eight languages.   The Ventura City Council accepted this gift on May 12, 2008.   A second garden is planned for Ventura's Memorial Park.  Donations for the project can be sent to CPR with "Peace Pole" noted in the check memo. @ Citizens for Peaceful Resolutions, P.O.
